Helene Spork

EXECUTIVE COACH

GEOMANTIC CONSULTANT

STORYMAKER

“Helene is born to show people the logical way to the joy of life.”

(from my Human Design profile)

Does it mean my own life is filled with joy only? Nope. But I always intent to get back to joy asap. Not to ignore the downsides, but to literally enJOY the ride.

Now and then, a course makes me sing. The Mighty Heart Course did.

My lifebrary

My life as a library

If possible, I would have arrived in this life with a library. I definitely brought some stories with me.

Being so fond of reading and writing a lifebrary feels a good fit here.

Phenomenal. A must read if you join one of my retreats.

Favorite quote:

“Even a wounded world is feeding us. Even a wounded world holds us, giving us moments of wonder and joy. I choose joy over despair. Not because I have my head in the sand, but because joy is what the earth gives me daily and I must return the gift.”

2023

A book that makes me dance.

This quote feels written for me:

“I have attempted to give Generation Symbiocene a relentless, optimistic, and practical view of their future. Such EXTREME OPTIMISM is needed to counter the ruthless pessimism that is emerging from the critics of the Anthropocene and the collective wisdom of scientists who keep warning us about the apocalyptic scenario that is unfolding due to ecosystem destruction, toxic pollution, and climate warming.”

2022

A quote that shifted my paradigm:

“A Ltd. is an illusion created by law to avoid the consequences of being responsible for your deeds”.

Brilliant.

2017

To live and work according to the seasons’ rhythm, 2015

A huge relief. Ever since I read this book, I grant myself the spare time I thought I had to earn.

First book I wrote, together with Annemarieke. On the waves of turmoil around 2012, we created an informative, inspiring, critical, a little philosophical and definitely entertaining book.

Now, fourteen years after writing it, Annemarieke and I still quote from it now and then.

You can download the e-book for free from our store (in Dutch only).

2012, sense & nonsense

Of beauty and comfort, 2000 and beyond

A gift by dear friends when I turned 33.

Personal interviews with 29 role models on what makes life worth living.

Favorite quote:

“We are part of eternity and the expression of its limits.” (Gyorgy Konrád)

Brilliant. Books make you travel in time by nature, but this book has the perfect plot.

In hindsight, I think this is the book that made me wonder whether time can be linear at all.

Crusade in jeans, 1975

A precious gift by my grandfather for my admittance to the gymnasium.

His favorite statement: “Since you are a girl, you’d better read a lot and learn to play chess and checkers. I’ll teach you.”

PIPPI, 1972

Definitely a role model. I read and watched all her adventures and even dressed up like Pippi once..

Queen of Sheba, 1970

Gosh, I fell in love with that story when three years old. I read it to visitors, sitting on my mothers lap. Since I could not yet read, I read it by heart. Nobody dared to admit I held that bible upside down…

I reread the story recently and was flabbergasted. According to the story, she was quite wealthy. One day she visited king Salomon because she heard of his wisdom. When she got to know him, she said: “Only if you don’t get blinded by wealth or wisdom, you can feel how blessed you are.”

(For those who don’t know: my holding company is called Salomon and I quite often mention how blessed I feel. Life is no coincidence…)

King Arthur, 1979
